Next steps + new CfP

Eludamos never sleeps and so we are already planning our next steps.
For one, we are excited to announce a cooperation with the IADIS  conference coming up in July 2008 (http://www.gaming-conf.org). Alongside other game specific journals ("Simulation & Gaming: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Theory, Practice and Research" and  "International Journal of Computer Games Technology"), Eludamos will provide a publishing platform for the best conference papers.

Of course, we are also already getting into gear for the fall edition to be published in September 2008.Our thematic focus for the new  PERSPECTIVES section is going to be on independent games. Also, we  aim to emphasize the academic game review section. On the one hand, this means you can look forward to another exquisite selection of  interesting and relevant contributions in the fall; on the other  hand, this is a new opportunity for you to get your work noticed! For
more details, please see the following call for Papers.

Call for Papers

The call for papers for "Eludamos. Journal for Computer Game Culture"  is now open, and we again would like to welcome submissions dealing with everything that is relevant to the field of game studies. We  especially encourage contributions focusing on "Independent Games",  since this is our thematic focus for the PERSPECTIVES section in the  September edition.

We further would like to emphasize our academic game review section. Close "readings" of games are still rare, although much insight about  the aesthetics and potentials of this young medium is to be gained  from the practice of critical analysis. Tell us why a particular game  is noteworthy, what can be learnt from it for practice of game design or in how far it is a culturally and / or socially relevant artefact. Please note that from now on, all articles undergo a double blind peer review process except for papers submitted to the game review  section. We still expect all submission to be in english and accept  full papers only. For further specificiations about our submission guidelines  please consult http://www.eludamos.org.

The next issue is due to appear in September 2008.

Submissions can be  made throughout the year, however, articles for the September edition
must be submitted by June 20th 2008. Submissions that reach us after that date will be considered for the next issue.
