Abstract

This reading attempts to show how Iron Storm connects history and fiction by means of a three-dimensional storytelling system. This paper further explores new limits of game concepts such as Jenkins space architecture and Murray's immersion, and directed towards the testing of an experientail approach to game narrative and play analysis.

 

Author Biography

Tamer Thabet, University of Antwerp

Tamer Thabet is Ph.D. candidate in computer games and cybernarratives at the University of Antwerp in Belgium. He holds an M.A. in American studies and a B.A. in English. He is currently an international visiting scholar to Brock University in Canada where he works as lab manager and associate researcher in the Simulating History Research Lab.Research interests: computer game textuality, Ludology, narratology, simulation, film studies, complex adaptive systems and interactivity.
